Martha Nassibou’s passion for drawing and
painting started already during her childhood. As a young woman she
studied art in Paris at the Académie des beaux arts and in New York a
the Students Art League and, upon returning to Ethiopia, pursued
her career as a painter.
Her unique style, conveying intense
vitality in both textures and colors, takes inspiration from ancient
Ethiopian tradition and is influenced by Byzantine art. Her paintings
express a great depth of feeling and overflow with energy.
Martha, is an accomplished artist;
painter, portraitist, author and poet, who enjoys using different media
to share her vision of the world.
Martha exhibits and works on
commission, in particular portraits and large thematic canvases
describing Ethiopian scenes. |
